Teaching
With our courses we promote interdisciplinary contacts and cooperation among students: Our courses are aimed equally at students of computer science and students of the humanities and social sciences.
Our courses have a strong focus on methods of computer-aided humanities and social sciences. We cover the following topics:
- Social Network Analysis
- Text mining
- Machine learning
- Information visualization
- Data management
In these areas, we provide a basic understanding of selected methods, their requirements for data and their potentials and limits in knowledge generation. Our goal is to provide a critical understanding of computer-aided methods and to enable students to select and independently apply suitable methods for their own problems.
Our courses can be taken in order to pursue the certifiate of the supplementary study program Data Literacy. Find out more on the program's website!
If you have any questions about our courses, we are available by mail and via the professorship's matrix server. The login there works with the campus ID.
